Big Day Fun for Little Guests

Big Day Fun for Little Guests

Unless your Charleston wedding is for grown-ups only, chances are your guest crowd will include a few kiddos who know how to liven up a celebration with their bright smiles and too-cute ensembles.

The trick, of course, is keeping them happy (and the fingers out of the wedding cake).

Here to help are our Patrick Properties event pros, with a few special touches for a big day that caters to your littlest guests – and the parents who will be eternally grateful!

Of course, sometimes icing is messy and those shoes just have to come off on the dance floor – and you know what? Sometimes it’s better that way.

1. Serve up a Kid Friendly Menu: To the joy of parents and party guests alike, grown up versions of childhood favorites are back on the menu. Who doesn’t love sliders, milkshakes, and grilled cheese? Having a formal sit down dinner? Ask about accommodating the kid’s table with small plates and bites like chicken fingers.

2. Keep them Entertained: There is nothing like a great playlist to keep the little ones moving. Also, consider activities like corn hole, photo booths with props and even board games to liven up the evening. When all else fails, a candy bar of fun favors will be a guaranteed hit.

3. Invite them to play a part: Think beyond the traditional flower girl and ring bearer roles. Giving your favorite little guests a job to do makes for truly precious moments – from special readings during the ceremony to passing programs or blowing bubbles for the big exit.
