Rethink the Holidays

Fall is here, and that festive season will be here before you know it. We love any occasion to celebrate here at Patrick Properties, especially when it comes to holiday gatherings. Why? Because there is nothing better than putting a new spin on traditional get-togethers in a fabulous backdrop like historic Downtown Charleston.

Forget ho-hum holiday affairs (how much honeybaked ham can one person reasonably consume, anyway?). Sharing good tidings and plenty of cheers among family, friends and the office crowd should be fun – and our team of event pros have all the inspiration you need to prove it.

Take advantage of Charleston’s mild temperatures and casual waterfront setting. The River House at Lowndes Grove offers an ideal opportunity to loosen those ties and kick back with an outdoor social beneath the oak trees – from a traditional oyster roast or Lowcountry boil to a down-home barbeque cookout complete with roaring fire pit and melty s’mores. String bulb lighting and sweet Southern details are perfect complements to panoramic sunset views over the Ashley River.  image1image2image3

Enjoy dinner with friends – and stay out of the kitchen. Fish Restaurant’s second floor private dining room is a warm, contemporary space perfect for mingling over cocktails or hosting elegant seated dinners. With its exposed wooden beams beneath the vaulted ceiling, it’s easy to feel right at home in the top floor of this restored 1837 Charleston single overlooking Upper King Street.

Go grand – it’s the holidays after all. With twinkling vintage marquee lights and Art Deco Hollywood glam, a night at The American Theater is sure to be a showstopper. Another idea? Host your own popcorn screening of holiday movie classics in the stadium-seat cinema.
