Just In Time For Father’s Day: Manly Menu Ideas For The Gents In Your Wedding Crowd

From custom cocktails to a manly main course, today, we’re sharing our favorite wedding menu must-haves that are just for the gents. Because as they say, man cannot live on canapes alone.

A Good, Stiff Drink

Whether Dad’s a whiskey connoisseur or your mister loves a classic gin and tonic, you’ll keep spirits high during the celebration with a handcrafted cocktail just for him. Two crowd-pleasing recipes from our bar team? Try the Bourbon-Maple Manhattan or Jalapeno-Elderflower Gimlet, or opt for a bourbon bar with a selection of small-batch Southern classics in elegant glass decanters.

The Raw Bar

What man doesn’t love a great raw bar, especially here in Charleston? Opt for this fresh display and just watch how quickly the guys snatch up stone crab claws, local shrimp and Lowcountry oysters! Speaking of, how fun are these individual oyster shooters – complete with mini bottles of Tabasco sauce?

Bar Snacks

Alongside that Manhattan, stock your bar with easy, grab-and-go nibbles like boiled peanuts, mixed olives, spicy fried okra and spiced pecans. Passed hors d’oeuvres like The Southern Croque – with meatloaf, pimento cheese and spicy collards – or cola braised barbecue lamb on a pretzel roll are also great to pair with lighter bites during cocktail hour. If you’re hosting a plated dinner, preset charcuterie boards at each place setting!

A Manly Main Course

Centerpieces of Patrick Properties’ seasonal three-course menus range from braised short ribs and ribeye filets to lamb rack, lobster tail and roasted halibut. Carveries are served by PPHG’s professional team of chefs and feature selections that include beef tenderloin, whole roasted grouper and suckling pig.

Late Night Treats

Surprise guests with a late-night energy boost to keep them dancing all night long. On the sweet side, there are mini milkshakes, cinnamon-sugar doughnut holes, oreo cheesecake pops and more – but if Dad’s tastebuds lean more toward savory, he’ll be snatching up these truffle-parmesan fries and buttermilk chicken biscuits!
