It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of your big day, especially when you’re surrounded by so many of your favorite people who want to celebrate with you! But as we approach the second Sunday in May, we can’t help thinking about one special lady. If you’re fortunate to have a mom you treasure, don’t miss a great opportunity to honor her — your wedding day.

To give you a head start, we’re sharing a few of our favorite acknowledgements that let mom know how much she’s appreciated. Happy Mother’s Day from Patrick Properties!

Dedicate special time for just the two of you

Before the day-of preparations are underway, plan a peaceful mother-daughter retreat at your wedding venue or bridal suite. We’re happy to arrange special touches inside our hospitality suite at Lowndes Grove or The William Aiken Carriage House to help you enjoy your morning together – her favorite coffee, mimosas and fresh fruit or bakery treats from our pastry team.

Capture precious moments

Plan a timeline with your wedding photographer to make sure there’s abundant opportunities for photos of just you and mom, and talk about specific shots you’d like to capture. It seems obvious, but you’ll be surprised how your big day will speed by. You’ll want those memories on film to treasure long after the celebration.

Honor her best recipes on the wedding menu

Mom’s kitchen prowess is legendary – why not recreate one of her specialties for your guests? Chef Nico and our culinary team will happily recreate family recipes as part of your wedding day menu, ensuring that the final dish is (almost) as perfect as the original. Be sure to save a keepsake menu just for her!

Give her a special toast

This one is easy: Include mom’s favorite bottle of wine or signature cocktail among your beverage selection as another tribute that says “I’m thinking about you.”

Enlist a planner that makes her a priority

Once your venue is booked, the next step is partnering with a coordinator. Our Patrick Properties event pros have built close relationships with Charleston’s top wedding professionals.
