Can you believe it’s August already? Hands up if you’re as excited as we are here at Patrick Properties: fall wedding season is just around the corner! If you’re saying “I Do” in September or October, this month is one of the most fun and exciting yet, as your big day comes into focus. Today, we mean that literally, because now is a great time to assemble your photography list of “must-have” shots… and wouldn’t you know, the PPHG event team is here to help with expert tips and plenty of inspiration!

First, don’t sweat the process. Charleston wedding photographers are professionals at capturing the important details and candid moments you’ll want to remember for the rest of your lives together. They’ll be able to guide you through the day’s photography timeline, suggestions for family portraits, ceremony perspectives and more.

Where you come in as a couple is letting your photographer know ahead of time which shots will be most personal and unique to you – and only you.

Be specific. From the backdrop and timing to the subjects and camera angle, if you have a vision, make sure your photographer is on the same page. Even communicating that you’re smitten with the riverfront at Lowndes Grove, or were immediately drawn to the elegant ballrooms at The William Aiken House is a huge help in putting together your wish list.

Be intentional. Close your eyes and picture your wedding: who or what about this day matters most to you? From the fall of your gown to the way he smiled as you appeared in the aisle, what memories will you want to hold close long after the celebration has ended?
