Meet our very talented & creative Assistant Pastry Chef, Lauren Yerrick!
Lauren studied DCT University Switzerland in Vitznau, Switzerland for six months and earned an Advanced Certificate in European Pastries and Chocolates. Lauren has previously worked in several bakeries & was the former Pastry Chef of Cassique at Kiawah Island Club for over two years. She joined Patrick Properties Hospitality Group in February 2017 and has been a great asset ever since. Recently, Lauren has enjoyed creating the dessert menu for the opening of PPHG’s highly anticipated new restaurant, Parcel 32! She notes that her favorite thing about working at PPHG is the variety of desserts and pastries she works with, including breads, plated desserts, banquet desserts, and gaining exposure to wedding cakes.

NOW, ON TO THE SERIOUS QUESTIONS….
Q: If you were on death row, what would your last meal be?
A: French fries and ice cream. Lots of ice cream.
Q: Favorite old school jam:
A: “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” by Lauryn Hill
Q: What is your favorite guilty pleasure TV show you’re embarrassed to admit you watch:
A: Drunk History, it’s ridiculous, but hilarious and educational!
Q: Best vacation you’ve been on?
A: I went to Florence for a weekend with my roommate in culinary school. We ate great food (so much gelato!) and saw some amazing sights. I’ll never forget standing in front of Michelangelo’s David.
Q: Any favorite line from a movie?
A: It’s too long to quote, but Peter Sarsgaard’s monologue in the “We blew it Caitlin” scene in Shattered Glass is amazing. The whole scene is great, the dialogue and acting by him and Chloe Sevigny is fantastic. I highly recommend the movie.
Q: What is on your bucket list?
A: I want to travel as much as I can! Peru, Iceland, Jordan… I want to see it all.
Q: What is your most unusual talent?
A: I can put my hair up in a bun without using any ties or pins to hold it up.
Q: What is your favorite account to follow on social media?

Q: If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be?
A: I would want to just be me, but with limitless funds for a day. So I could go anywhere and do anything!
Q: What actor would you choose to be you in a movie about your life?
A: She looks nothing like me, but I would want Mindy Kaling to play me in a movie because I love her sense of humor and comedic delivery.
Q: Would you rather have unlimited sushi or unlimited tacos for life?
A: Tacos, for sure.
Q: Who or where would you haunt if you were a ghost?
A: I would probably haunt my siblings so I can continue to tease and bother them. Nothing scary though 😉
Q: What is your spirit animal, and why?
A: I’d say an elephant. Mostly because I love them, but also because they’re sweet, a little goofy, and strong.
Q: Is a hot dog a sandwich, and why?
A: A hot dog is its own category.
