The River House

The intimate River House at Lowndes Grove is located on a beautifully manicured site in downtown Charleston, but it feels miles away from anything.

Perfect for fewer than 100 guests, the River House is a waterfront space overlooking the Ashley River. The venue is a private building on the lush grounds of Lowndes Grove Plantation, the last of its kind on the Charleston peninsula. The space is perfect for everything from a peaceful retreat, a business meeting, a luncheon, or a quiet wedding ceremony with a gathering of close relatives and friends.

The River House’s open floor plan features four sets of French doors swinging out onto a brick terrace overlooking the river. The property is well-suited for both social gatherings and business meetings and also includes two elegant guest rooms.

Location

Adjoining Lowndes Grove, the River House sits on the banks of the majestic Ashley River. Located downtown but beyond the bustle of the commercial district of Charleston, the River House is in the charming neighborhood of Wagener Terrace, just north of Hampton Park and The Citadel.
