Weekday Weddings with PPHG!

Weekday weddings are the newlywed norm! This month, we’re taking a closer look at PPHG’s favorite weekday weddings of 2021. Most recently, Karissa + John tied the knot and celebrated with their loved ones on a fall Thursday night at Parcel 32! The fashionable couple hosted an intimate dinner reception before dancing the night away on King Street. (above, Taylor English Photography)

Still not entirely sold on a weekday wedding? Let us show you why they’re becoming so popular! Below, we’re sharing a sneak peek from our favorite Monday through Friday events from this year so far. Read on, and we think you’ll agree each of these weekday weddings was just as incredible as any traditional Saturday date!

There are certainly no Monday blues here! Whitney + Garry started the week off with a BANG at Lowndes Grove. Designed by PPHG’s own in-house planner, Abby Frye of Peninsula Events, this is a rain plan we can get behind. Whitney + Garry looked absolutely stunning saying their vows on the second floor piazza. After postponing their original 2020 wedding date due to COVID-19, this sweet couple was finally able to host their friends and family along the Ashley River in downtown Charleston and secure their dream vendor team on a Monday in September! Next up… Kimi + Jordan’s micro-wedding at the River House at Lowndes Grove. Sorry, Etta James, but we want a Tuesday kind of love like these two have! This couple was made for each other, and their chemistry is undeniable in every photograph. With Charleston being a top destination wedding location, a Tuesday wedding is smart and offers greater flexibility when considering a Monday rehearsal dinner location. We also love the idea of our couples getting more time with their loved ones post-event, or guests extending their vacation in Charleston through the remainder of the week. This Wednesday in May was all about Trish + Ryan. Designed by PPHG’s Peninsula Events, we are swooning over this couple’s micro-wedding at the River House. Having postponed their original date in 2020, Trish + Ryan owned the entire week and said their vows on a wonderful Wednesday. We love this untraditional day of the week and have come to find that, sometimes, the date numerology is more important to our couples than tying the knot on a Saturday. Maybe you and your partner have a special date unique to your story? By booking it as your wedding date, it becomes solidified as part of your forever story! (Chris Joriann)

Heather + Mark also took a less traditional approach and married on a Thursday at the William Aiken House. These trend-setters understood the assignment and took it one step further with Heather’s gorgeous tiered pink gown! All eyes were on these two as they sashayed through the garden during their al fresco dinner on the front lawn. We love seeing our couples get creative and personalize their big day by letting their unique personalities shine through. (Hannah Alyssa Photography)

We finish out the week with Sarah + Davon at the American Theater. These two were red carpet-ready for their Friday reception and certainly gave us #ALLTHEFIELDS! While Friday events are more common than earlier weekdays, they still provide several of the same opportunities to be creative and get the most out of your big day. (Allison Hanson Photography)
