As some of you may know, the River House at Lowndes Grove used to have a pool from its days as a bed and breakfast many moons ago. Taking up valuable event space real estate, we decided it was time for a little makeover! We’re excited to introduce the new oyster tabby space – the perfect addition to your big event. This space is very versatile and ideal for:
- tented rain plan options
- cocktail hour
- specialty bars (frosé bar, Bourbon bar, etc.)
- lounge area or soft seating
- ceremony
- dining al fresco
- dance floor + entertainment
- fire pit/s’mores
- games/activities

The oyster tabby provides more floor plan options than ever before for private River House soirees, or to expand your event footprint for Lowndes Grove events looking for exclusivity and an extra splash of space. This intimate outdoor space and scenic backdrop is nestled between centuries-old live oak trees with sweeping views of the Ashley River. It can easily be tented so, rain or shine, your event will go off without a hitch.
